the myth that women

So I post a lot of pictures of military men on here, but today I just want to take some time to recognize every girl who has stepped out of their comfort zone, and I am not necessarily saying girls that have tried CrossFit or do CrossFit but just in general that go down to the basement of any gym and actually lifts some weights.  So you ask what are you talking about? So society I feel has to a certain degree has said that women aren’t suppose to lift heavy weight, women aren’t suppose to compete in certain things, or in general shouldnt be in the basement of a gym lifting weight. In the last couple years I have seen many women walk into a gym and within a couple of months have so much confidence and know that they can do anything they put their mind to. Hey, I have had some of these girls beat me in workouts before, and its is honestly amazing to see how mentally strong these girls are, anyways we wont talk about that. I guess what I am getting at is I’d like  to challenge every girl out their to try it out, im not saying CrossFit, if you are like nah that’s not for me, go sign up with a local gym . I believe some of them give a couple free personal training sessions for free.  It’s a myth that lifting weights will make you look like a man. My wife lifts weights and does CrossFit along with many other Girls, and trust me, they don’t look like men.

So you ask what is the point of lifting weights or working out?  I challenge you to try it! If you were to ask any of these girls what they are training for, I’m sure they would answer along the lines of something like this.  We are training for life! we are teaching our brains that we can do anything with consistent hard work.

Hopefully I encouraged some of you to get out of your comfort zone just a little and go try it out!


Thursday’s are a scheduled rest day/ active recovery day. Not everyone is following a 3 on 1 off 2 on 1 off schedule(yet). A lot of you guys are doing 2 times a week, some 3. So you ask yourself if Thursday is a scheduled rest day what will I be doing? You can make up one of the workouts that was programmed during the week. For those that will be coming in you can either make up a workout you missed, or work on any skill you feel needs improvement . Feel free to ask questions, work on technique…. If you are following a 3 on 1 off 2 on 1 off, and come in I recommend to do something light and work on mechanics of the movements. Active recovery of some sort, mobility work is good.
