Glad to see everyone back in the swing of things. It was a packed house for most of the day.
We appreciate everyone’s patience through the technique work portion today. Especially the bigger classes. We know that some of these movements are not easy and it takes a lot of practice and teaching to figure out, but we feel that it’s important to program so that everyone can continue to make progress.
I’d like to thank Coach Loyer for taking the time to really break down each portion of the Kettle Bell Snatch. It would be really easy for him to just give everyone a light KB and tell you to swing it over head, I was really impressed that he took the time to break it down…(5am is always the test class and it sounds like even the coaches under estimated how long this would take). For those that are new really take the time to learn the proper technique, it will pay off in the long run. For the veterans. Add this new knowledge to your arsenal. Knowledge is power! Good job everyone one today. All the coaches were proud of the progress we saw. If your resting tomorrow enjoy!
Thursday’s are a scheduled recovery day. Not everyone is following a 3 on 1 off 2 on 1 off schedule(yet). A lot of you guys are doing 2 times a week, some 3. So you ask yourself if Thursday is a scheduled recovery day what will I be doing? You can make up one of the workouts that was programmed during the week. For those that will be coming in you can either make up a workout you missed, or work on any skill you feel needs improvement . Feel free to ask questions, work on technique…. If you are following a 3 on 1 off 2 on 1 off, and come in I recommend to do something light and work on mechanics of the movements. Active recovery of some sort, mobility work is good.
